Topos Mondial’s History

  • 1962 – Founded by Michael Angelo Morabito Jr. Company started to form as Mr. Morabito was buying and selling used bakery equipment in an effort to automate his mostly manual family bakery business
  • 1963 – Represented Topos A.S., Czechoslovakia in US from 1963-1968 for sales of automated Artisan roll production lines. Created company name Topos Mondial Corp, USA, where the Mondial name was added to promote international (Worldwide) reach
  • 1968 – The heightened Cold War stopped trade with USA and CZ in 1968 Topos Mondial continued to buy and sell used bakery equipment from 1968 – 1980 with minimal rebuilding capability
  • 1980 – Topos Mondial Corp. started building its rebuilding staff and capabilities.
  • 1987 – Topos Mondial Corporation moves to Pottstown, PA facility. Damian Morabito joins the company Damian and Michael Morabito Jr. expand the business as a result of rebuilding and remanufacturing. Engineering becomes the company’s main focus
  • 2001 – Topos Mondial Corporation reconnects with Topos A.S., Czech Republic. Purchases majority of shares in the company. Topos Mondial Corporation offers manufactured equipment from Topos, CZ facility and sells new equipment worldwide
  • 2004 – Topos Mondial and Topos A.S. builds its first Industrial doughnut proofer, fryer, and glazer line for a nominal 1,000 dozen per hour production. Topos Mondial and Topos A.S continued to evolve and refine all of the Industrial Doughnut equipment line up until today.  
  • 2015 – Topos Mondial purchases all shares of Topos A.S. Combined engineering efforts between Topos CZ and Topos Mondial USA allows us to expand and offer new horizontal dough mixers of all types, expand and improve our current spiral and planetary mixer offerings and expand the dough handling equipment offerings and technology
  • 2024 – Today, Topos Mondial Corporation and Topos A.S. is a full-service supplier of all types of remanufactured, high quality, bakery equipment, along with New mixing, dough handling and donut equipment. The emphasis has always been on engineering and innovation for the last 50 years and both companies continue to grow.

  • Born in USA,1962
  • Graduated Germantown Academy with honors in 1980
  • Graduated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1984 with BSME degree
  • Married in 1990 and has three children
  • Worked for “Trane Industrial Air Conditioning Company” as sales engineer, 1984 – 1987
  • Rejoined family equipment and real estate business in 1987
  • Named Vice President of Topos Mondial Corporation in 1990
  • Named President of Topos Mondial Corporation in 2005
  • Member of the supervisory board of Topos Europe since 2004
  • Member of ASB (American Society of Baking) since 1995
  • Board Director of BEMA (Bakery Equipment Manufactures and Allied) from 2007 through 2015
  • Served on BEMA’s Executive and Finance committees.
  • Served as BEMA Chairman from 2013-2014
  • Became sole owner of Topos Mondial Corp (and subsequently Topos A.S.) in 2019

Czech Mate for Quality: In Sluknov, Czech Republic, we have a state-of-the-art 200,000 ft2 facility. Here, we blend engineering artistry with assembly efficiency, focusing on new bakery process equipment. From sheet metal work to machining and painting, every detail is crafted with the highest quality.

The Heart in Pottstown: Over in Pottstown, PA, our company headquarters span a whopping 300,000 ft2! This hub is where the magic happens for re-manufacturing used equipment and putting the final touches on our new creations before they make their way to you, our happy customers.
